michael jordan failure

"I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

  • Okay, somewhat different take on this…

My friend Justin Riray & I were just talking about winning/failing in basketball. If you miss 9 shots the entire game, but make the game winning shot, no one will remember you as the pathetic loser who had a 10% accuracy rate. They will only remember the SUCCESS you had because it was so pivotal.

It’s the same thing if, maybe not exactly, if you MADE 9 out of 10 shots, but MISSED the game winning shot. Everyone remembers you “let down” the team… As if you scoring a 1/3 of the team’s points by yourself meant nothing.
