must be too much truth for you
So ‘truth’ now means grabbing headlines from motherjones.com nutjob stories now?
Pretty insightful if you ask me……
Justin the MMR front, it’s commonly available knowledge that the vaccine is developed with mercury derivative in many companies. Mercury is not exactly great for your health.
Thanks mate, but I suppose with all things it’s not that simple. The pharmaceutical industry makes a lot of money out of selling fear. For example when my son was born they told me it was vital he received a polio vaccine immediately. Yet 1 in 100 000 people get polio from the vaccine. I live in a city of 4,5 million people, and in a country on 50 million. Not one of them has polio. Statistically it is more dangerous to give him the vaccine. By far. I’m not saying all vaccines are bad, but I do think things like MMR are overkill and that we can be be more cautious in their application.
Don’t get me wrong I think you’re absolutely right about big pharma but vaccines have been used for over 200 years and have saved million of lives.
Another one with a bachelor’s in Internet Google Studies who knows everything
No Tom, just a guy who has a healthy skepticism of big business and who has eyes of his own to see what was going on in front of him when he went through this whole thing with his own son.
Why, exactly, do you think you live in a city of 4.5 million without polio? MMR is overkill? Try telling that to the 200 people (and increasing) who have caught mumps in the last month in Columbus OH. Regardless of your experience with your son, anecdotal evidence is proof of nothing. Taking medical advice from a former Playboy playmate is rather short-sighted.
I am very well aware of the role that vaccinations play in eliminating disease Tom. I live in Africa. However what I am trying to point out, (and clearly failing to do) is that given the success of vaccinations we can relax the scheduling of their distribution. There is no benefit in applying a host of vaccinations in one sitting versus many individual vaccinations over a longer period of time when the disease is absent from society. As for MMR is overkill. I had mumps when I was a kid. It sucked, but I got over it. If you attempt to insulate your immune systems from all challenges you will wind up not having one at all. I worked in tourism for the better part of 10 years and I saw first hand how soft westerners are when it comes to infections. Something that I am very sure stems from their dependence on everything but their own immune systems. I am not attempting to say that vaccinations are bad, I think that they are overall good. But as with anything, over application (especially when done unquestioningly) is not a good thing. Is it really that hard for you to believe that the people making a profit from selling this product would over prescribe it? Surely you aren’t that naive. As for your assumption about Jenny Mcarthy, or whatever her name is. My son is 6. You do the maths.
I also had mumps as a child, because the vaccine was developed later. I survived, obviously, but an adult getting the disease is far more likely to suffer significant complications than a child. And the people catching it around Columbus OH are adults or near-adults, and there’s a good chance it was caused by someone who elected not to have their child inoculated. And that means you are not only putting your child at risk, but any adults he might come in contact with. “Working in tourism” is not the same as researchers trained in medicine and immunology, many of whom have no ties to Big Pharma.
Tom you seem to be deliberately set on mis-interpreting what I am saying, so I’ll make this my final statement. If the greater risk is to people as adults, then clearly the imperative is not on mass-immunizing kids in one fell swoop as they do at the moment, but rather ensuring that people have been immunized before reaching adulthood. This would be a clear example of how staggering immunization (ie: changing the scheduling as I originally maintained) would be appropriate. Now go pick a fight worth fighting. Peace out.
Precious little truth in that list. Quoting fauxahontas Liz Warren is a a dead giveaway that the truth has left the building.
“raising the minimum wage is healthy for an economy”
–a statement made by someone unwilling to educate themselves on how economies work.
And the Cesar Chavez quote is BS too. We have the wealthiest ‘poor’ of any country around right now. Hell, over 40% of people on welfare list a dishwasher as a necessity, not a luxury.
I love how people still believe that German propaganda.
Those powerplants where sheduled to be shut down due to age anyway except Merkel turned it into one big media stunt and turned the entire thing into a safety decision due to what happened in Japan.
O and where does Germany get their power? Yes they get some from wind and the sun but most of it comes from dirty old coal powerplants.
Don’t forget the natural gas plants. They’ve brought a pile of those online to replace the lost base load power capacity of the nuclear plants. Because at the end of the day there’s not a renewable power source out there that can provide constant base load power capacity. Incidentally, that natural gas usage is the primary reason the Germans haven’t stuck their neck out on Ukraine. Can’t make much of a principled stand about anything if your opponent shuts off the gas taps and leaves your citizens in the dark….
On one had we’re constantly told so many poor Americans are going hungry on a regular basis. On the other hand we’re told that obesity is an epidemic and on the rise among the poor. Does anyone else see the contradiction in those two claims?
No contradiction there mate! Most poor people Americans or Europeans living in cities would only be able to afford bad quality food as it’s the cheapest. They’d go to discount supermarkets, fast food and generally processed food enhanced with high levels of fat, salt and sugar. Seldom fresh, balanced food and with big carences in vitamines, protides and good oils.
Could it be that some people in america are dirt poor while others are not?
Qouting a lying turd like Elizebeth Warren? Every entry is a poorly thought out leftist bumper sticker. Sayonara, not coming back.
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass…good riddance
So I take it your a far left liberal. This site should stick to hot girls and not try t shove politics done are throats.
Holy fuck this pisses me off. How dare you try to promote leftist political garbage has truth? Enough of this propaganda!
I agree, Tom.
