Dying Dog Rescued From The Streets Has Been Completely Transformed In Only Two Months

March 23, 2016 | No Comments » | Topics: Animals, Humanity |

When this dying dog rescued from the streets of India was originally found he looked like a lost cause, as well as the saddest creature you’ve ever seen. The organization Animal Aid Unlimited came to the dog’s rescue just two-months ago in hopes of saving his life and making it worth living again.

When he was first found on the side of the road, the poor pup was starving, dehydrated, suffering from mange and had not experienced any human contact in a long time. A spokesperson for Animal Aid Unlimited said, “He was so exhausted and inward.”

As soon as the dog arrived at the rescue facility they hooked him up to an IV and began treating his many infections. It took 10 days for the dog’s skin to heal, at which point the real transformation began to take place.

The results of his transformation are unbelievable. To think this is the same dying dog rescued from the streets only two months before is not only shocking but also inspirational.

Kind Vet Eats Breakfast In Cage With Terrified Rescue Dog

February 18, 2016 | 3 Comments » | Topics: Humanity, Life |

A terrified rescue dog found comfort Sunday when a Georgia veterinarian climbed into her cage and sat by her until she felt brave enough to eat her breakfast.

The vet explains that when Graycie was first rescued she was in a bad state – “emaciated, starved (20 lbs), dehydrated, hypothermic (temp of 95), anemic, and with a vaginal prolapse.” He even considered putting her to sleep but decided against the idea and chose to nurse her back to health.

Graycie has since made a lot of progress but still has a long road to recovery. The pooch still finds her cage most comfortable and usually hides in a corner when someone tries to meet her.

So, hoping to comfort the little thing and make sure she eats to regain her strength, Dr Mathis spent breakfast in the cage with her. He can be seen eating his own breakfast next to her, hoping she will take a cue from him and eat her own food.

It takes a while for Graycie to eat but she can be seen polishing off her kibble by the end of the video. She even licks the vet’s hands in appreciation.

This South Korean Woman Has Saved 200 Dogs And Cares For All Of Them

61-year-old Jung Myoung Sook from South Korea has been saving dogs for the last 26 years. In all, Sook has saved over 200 dogs, picking up stray pups from the streets and even buying others from dog meat farms and restaurants.

Jung’s incredible kindness is considered strange in South Korea, where dogs aren’t popular as pets. She’s had to move house seven times after neighbours complained about the noise of her one-woman dog sanctuary.

Most of the dogs live with Jung full time and she says she spends nearly $1,500 a month on their care, relying largely on donations of dog food and money to get by.

Jung said, “Some people talk about me, saying, ‘Why is that beggar-like middle-aged woman smiling all the time?’, but I just focus on feeding my babies. I’m happy and healthy.”

If You Need Your Faith In Humanity Restored, Read This

December 22, 2015 | 3 Comments » | Topics: Humanity |

Just about every time I see someone I stop. I kind of got out of the habit in the last couple of years, moved to a big city and all that, my girlfriend wasn’t too stoked on the practice. Then some shit happened to me that changed me and I am back to offering rides habitually. If you would indulge me, it is long story and has almost nothing to do with hitch hiking other than happening on a road.

This past year I have had 3 instances of car trouble. A blow out on a freeway, a bunch of blown fuses and an out of gas situation. All of them were while driving other people’s cars which, for some reason, makes it worse on an emotional level. It makes it worse on a practical level as well, what with the fact that I carry things like a jack and extra fuses in my car, and know enough not to park, facing downhill, on a steep incline with less than a gallon of fuel.

Anyway, each of these times this shit happened I was DISGUSTED with how people would not bother to help me. I spent hours on the side of the freeway waiting, watching roadside assistance vehicles blow past me, for AAA to show. The 4 gas stations I asked for a gas can at told me that they couldn’t loan them out “for my safety” but I could buy a really shitty 1-gallon one with no cap for $15. It was enough, each time, to make you say shit like “this country is going to hell in a handbasket.”

Panhandlers Given Work Instead Of Spare Change In New Albuquerque Program

December 14, 2015 | 1 Comment » | Topics: Humanity |

Instead of spare change, roadside panhandlers in Albuquerque, New Mexico will be getting $9 an hour, if they want a job for the day. The mayor announced the program, “There’s a Better Way,” by unveiling a van that will cruise through the city two days a week, picking up beggars who’d rather spend the day working on a variety of city beautification projects.

The idea was hatched by Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry, who saw it as a way to help, not punish, people in need.

“I was driving one day … and I see a gentleman standing there with a sign that says: ‘Will work, so we decided to take the program to the next level.”

This Woman Opened A Retirement Home For Senior Dogs Who Have Been Abandoned Or Surrendered

senior dog rescue

House With a Heart, an animal sanctuary in Gaithersburg, Maryland, gives aging pets a happy home for their final years. Housing exclusively senior animals, the nonprofit rescues senior cats and dogs that have been given up by their families, and makes sure they are safe and loved, day and night. House with a Heart has an army of 50 volunteers helping Sher Polvinale run the large, two-acre property filled with various enclosures for the animals. Doggie doors at all major entrances allow the animals freedom that many family pets do not have. Unlike other shelters, Sher does not attempt to adopt out the dogs she has rescued. She allows them to live out the rest of their lives in her care.
