Police Officer Tries To A Arrest BJJ Black Belt

January 22, 2019 | No Comments » | Topics: Jiu-Jitsu |

I’ve said it time and time again, it should be mandatory for law enforcement officers to train grappling.

MonumentJiuJitsu.com in conjunction with LightningKicks.com and Centurian Modern Law Enforcement Subject Control utilizing modern hand to hand combat tactics to train police on real world scenarios. This sort of training gets the officer to a state of fatigue and adrenaline where they then have to make critical choices on the use of deadly force. The officers have to make many decisions on who and who is not a threat and be able to detain the threat with the appropriate amount of force. These scenarios were carried out at the Kalamazoo Valley Police Academy in Michigan. These types of training are vital for the officers safety and for the community, so the officer is less likely to prematurely use deadly force.

ninjitsu vs jiu jitsu

A 17 year old (135 lbs.) Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under 7 x IBJJF World Champion Samuel Braga and a Brown Belt in The Collier Method of Judo faces an adult (185 lbs.) Black Belt in Ninjitsu at the KBMA World Championships in Concord, North Carolina.

This was the championship match in the gi-division. It was a 5 minute match / NAGA Rules. Nik and his brother Jeremiah were the only competitors at this event that were trained in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Judo. As far as we know, all of the other competitors were black belts in Hapkido, Ninjitsu, and Japanese Ju-jutsu. Many of us have not seen a style-vs-style tournament since the early days of the UFC, so this was a very interesting event. The gentleman Nikolas Collier faced in this video told us he won the championship match last year with a score of 35 to 0. Even though there were various styles and backgrounds competing at this event, all the participants showed great courage and sportsmanship.

January 9, 2019 | No Comments » | Topics: Jiu-Jitsu |

You can’t judge a book by its cover and you also can’t judge a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner by their belt rank. In this case, blue belt Micael Galvao isn’t just any ordinary blue belt, he’s a phenom who has been destroying it in the competiton scene.

He took on the challenge of competiting against Leandro Rounaud, a former IBJJF Manaus Open adult black belt champion, who looked out of his depth against the outstanding 15-year-old talent. The match ended with Micael having broken/dislocated Leandro’s arm.
