Hot New Music Of The Day

June 28, 2017 | 3 Comments » | Topics: Music |

Check out this new track from LA alt-rock band Beachwood Coyotes. The band got their name from a crazy acid trip gone bad… Singer Jason went on a midnight hike while being tripped out as fuck! He went up the Beachwood Canyon trail and was chased away by rabid coyotes. The next day he found out there had been 3 decapitated bodies found on the exact same trail at the exact time he was there! God bless those damn coyotes.

Ice Cube – No Vaseline

Got damn I’m glad y’all set it off.
Used to be hard now you’re just wet and soft.

Ice Cube decries N.W.A as a group that was once hardcore, but has now lost their touch. He uses a penis (“hard”) and vagina (“wet and soft”) analogy to describe them.

First you was down with the AK
And now I see you on a video with Michel’le?

After Ice Cube left N.W.A, the remaining members appeared in several music videos by Ruthless Records R&B singer Michel’le, including “Nicety,” “Keep Watchin’,” and “Something In My Heart.” Cube is probably specifically referring to the “Something In My Heart” video, which included scenes where Eazy-E and Dr. Dre wore costumes to fit with the video’s 1920s theme.

Cube is pointing out how ironic it is that a group who touts themselves as hardcore—down with a violent life of AK-47 assault rifles—is now playing dress-up in silly music videos for soft love ballads.

It’s also worth noting that Dr. Dre and Michel’le were a couple for many years, and have a child together – there’s also an implication that Dre is pussy-whipped.

A Tour Inside Led Zeppelin’s Legendary Private Jet, The Starship

December 8, 2016 | 1 Comment » | Topics: Music |

In 1973, Led Zeppelin toured North American Tour for the ninth time. The tour was divided into two legs, with performances commencing on 4 May and concluding on 29 July 1973.

Led Zeppelin would travel on The Starship – a pimped United Airlines Boeing 720B passenger jet owned by Ward Sylvester and singer Bobby Sherman. For $2,500 a day, or $5 a mile, the airplane was specifically modified to cater to the biggest band in the world.

Inside, the main cabin contained seats and tables, revolving arm chairs, a 30-foot long couch running along the right hand side of the plane opposite the bar, a television set and video cassette player; an electronic organ was built into the bar. At the rear of the plane were two back rooms, one a den with a low couch and pillows on the floor, the other a bedroom, complete with a white fur bedspread and shower room.

The Starship was even staffed by two stewardesses, Susie, and attractive eighteen-year old blonde, and Bianca, a twenty-two year old with a dark complexion and a sense of humor.
