If you’re taking your animal to the vet for an ailment, get video of them coughing, breathing strangely, limping, etc. Animals may not show the ailment at the vet’s office and the video can help the vet diagnose your furry friend
Buy yourself a good pillow. You use it every night and the difference between a good pillow and a stack of cheap ones is almost immediately noticeable.
Pillows are not one fits all! I sell mattresses and pilliows, you can fit for both like they are a good pair of shoes.
For Side Sleepers: you want your pillow to fill in the space in between where your shoulder presses the mattress and your head/neck.
The reason that matters is because you want your spine to stay as straight as possible. Having a pillow that is too thick or too thin will cause neck and shoulder pain.
If you have a all foam or hybrid mattress(half foam half coil) You will need to go just a tad bit thinner on the pillow thickness because your shoulder sinks into the bed there for lessening the space between the mattress and your head.
If you have a coil mattress you still need to fill the same space between the mattress and your head.
For Back Sleepers: A thin pillow is better for back sleeps since the spin is already straight, a slight elevation in the head will help with breathing. If a back sleeper is snoring, pull the pillow towards them till is butting against the neck.
For Stomach Sleepers: If you use a pillow at all there are only two pillows I suggest: a very thin pillow or “The Always By My Side Pillow” it is the shape of boomerang. Any pillow on that shape will work but that’s the only brand I know of.
The goal will stomach is to still keep the spine straight but to also make sure that the upper back back/head isn’t elevated to much. When a stomach sleeper used a thick pillow or multiple pillows it can cause upper back pain.
If you’re cancelling your internet/cable and wish to avoid the elongated attempts to keep you, just tell them you’re changing jobs and that your new employer will be paying for all services. They should skip right along to the cancellation
Open chip bags upside down. They’ve been sitting upright most of their lives which makes the seasoning settle to the bottom of the bag. (Zaps Voodoo is the shit!)
As soon as you wake up, do a simple or small chore like making your bed or doing your dishes. Completing a simple task right when you wake up puts you in a more productive mood.
If you’re listening to someone in the middle of a conversation and it gets interrupted, one of the best things you can do is to ask them to finish what they were saying.
It shows that you truly care about what they have to say and that means so much more than you’d think. This will do wonders for making friends as well as improving relationships in general. Everyone wants to be heard, but nobody wants to listen.
One of the first things you should do when moving into a new home is to change the locks. You never know who might have a key to the house in their possession.
I also change the toilet seat.
When you are trying to resolve an issue where someone else made an error, put the focus on the error and not the person. Example of this: Instead of saying, “You didn’t send the attachment,” I say, “The attachment didn’t come through, please try sending it again.”
When asked online to confirm “I am not a robot”, if you long press on the tick box and release, you will not be asked to complete the “click all store front” etc tests
If someone you care about is in need, say “Tell me what you need.” Not “Let me know if you need anything”. Being direct makes it easier for them to ask, instead of just being a generic and pretty meaningless gesture.
I told a friend of mine I was upset and she offered me three options, and basically this directly “Do you want to talk about it, do you want advice, or do you want a distraction?” It was so refreshing. I was so grateful for it. It just helped me focus on what I needed in that moment rather than specifically why i was upset. And it was such a relief to have someone who just asked and was there for me in such a way. I was overflowing with gratitude for that and many other moments. “I’m here for you” just doesnt do the offer justice. “I’m here, what do you need?” is so much better.
If you want to move up in a company/increase your work load, don’t just ask your manager for something more to do. Find a problem, then make yourself the solution. It shows initiative and is a lot better than just walking up and saying “I’d like more to do.”
If you are just blindly asking, you’re putting them on the spot and they either won’t think of anything, or give you crap tasks that don’t further your progress in the company.
If you come to them with a specific task in mind, especially if it’s for a problem or issue you’ve identified and you already know how to correct it/complete the task with ease, it will get you a lot further. It also shows a great deal of initiative and will have them start thinking of you for things in the future.
You don’t realize how much you miss your hearing until it’s gone. When engaging in anything that involves a lot of noise (concerts, festivals, gun range, etc.) make sure you use earplugs. Tinnitus is just the beginning of a nightmare. ( Eargasms – Best Ear Plugs For Concerts And Festivals)
I have been working in and around music since I was 8. My tinnitus started in high school band. I was a tuba player, and being around all the brass instruments definitely played a part in it. Also I was playing in a punk band, and neither activities did I use ear protection. I’ve been living with tinnitus for over 25 years, although for the last 15 or so, I’ve coddled my ears, because I’m afraid to do any more damage to them. The ringing is constant, and sometimes, even with noise in the background, the ringing is so loud I can’t focus. It’s horrible, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
