Molly O’Malia is an American model, singer, YouTuber and social media influencer who came into the public spotlight after it was exposed that rapper Tyga slide into her dm’s while she was only 14 years old.
She was born on May 22, 2001 in Wilmington, Deleware.
In 2016, OK! Magazine published a story a story suggesting she and the rapper, Tyga, had a sexual relationship. The article entitled "Tyga Leaves Kylie Jenner Heartbroken After Texting A 14-Year-Old He Met On Instagram!”, included direct Instagram messages between O’Malia and Tyga, ones which show Tyga asking Molly when she’d next be in town.Tyga also asks her where she’s from and if she ever comes to LA. Molly responds that she’s not usually in Los Angeles, but she will be there in the coming months for modeling. Tyra tells Molly, “Dope."
Molly held a press conference shortly after with her lawyer, Gloria Allred. Molly denied having a sexual relationship with the rapper and stated that their correspondence never extended beyond social media.
Molly says she assumed Tyga was messaging her regarding her music. However, she thought it was odd that he didn’t mention music once in his messages. Molly said Tyga made her feel uncomfortable when he asked to FaceTime him three times. She refused saying her discomfort caused her to quickly stop messaging him back.
“I began to feel uncomfortable when he asked me to FaceTime with him. He asked me to FaceTime 3 times, but I did not do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me I quickly stopped responding to him. It’s crazy how so much can come out of nothing.”
Molly said she was speaking out because she didn’t want this to happen to another young girl. Gloria Allred added how inappropriate it was for an adult to message a 14 year old girl
"It is completely inappropriate for an adult male to communicate with her 14-year-old daughter, ask for her phone number and ask when she is coming to L.A.”
Molly reveals that she had to deal with a stalker in the past.
I was in Los Angeles and basically he was saying that he would come there. Which I don’t think that was possible because he was on drugs and supposedly didn’t have money or a way to get anywhere. I think he was homeless, but yeah the last thing he did was make a YouTube video to my mom and I apologizing. It was like a hour long video. Really scary. I couldn’t watch it all.
