If you get into a squabble with somebody and you get your head busted, as long as you don’t snitch, as long as you put up a good fight and as long as you didn’t run away, you still can get respect
The key to fighting in jail and prison to not look soft is to go through with it as hard as you possibly can, even if you know without a doubt that you’re gonna lose.
If it’s a one-on-one fight, my advice to y’all is to never run.
I’ve seen people run around the block getting chased by guys and screaming for the officer. That’s not good, because word is just going to travel all over the place that you just got punk’d down and by screaming and asking for help, you are dropping dime (snitching).
When you’re going to get into a fight, your best bet is to throw those punches as hard as you can and do the best that you possibly can, even if you have no fighting skills at all.
Don’t get dirty. Don’t pick up weapons or nothing. If there’s no weapons involved, don’t pick up nothing, because you lose respect like that.
Just take your beating. Most fights don’t last too long. Everybody gets winded and their stamina is not very good.
The main reason why I lost one of my first fights in jail was because I could barely breathe. I’m a cigarette smoker I fought hard for about 40 seconds since then I just got winded and I took my whoopin.
Getting jumped is totally different because really the odds are stacked against you. So if you lose, there ain’t no harm, there ain’t no foul, because there’s three of them and one of you.
People don’t expect you to win that. If you’re gonna get jumped, it’s best to throw a few punches and ball up and get ready for the ride. That’s all there is to it and pray that they stop stomping you or kicking you before they break ribs.
But usually most people stop pretty fairly quickly. They just wanted to get their point across and have a little fun.
After the fight
A lot of people go and tell the police after they get beat. Don’t do this.
Going to the officers after a fight makes you lose respect, as inmates will suspect that you are snitching and or trying to get off the block.
After the fight, you always hide your battle wounds. If you got marks or bruises on your face, I suggest you try your hardest to keep your face down and away from the police as they walk past you.
Do your best to hide it from them. You don’t want the police to see nothing.
Walk around like everything’s perfectly normally and like nothing even happened.
If you really try your hardest to hide the bruises or the swelling from the guards, you’re gonna get much respect in that block and it tells everybody that you are not a snitch or a rat.
People might be laughing at you every now and then but for the most part it will subside and people will know you are legit, you are good people and you took you whooping like a man.
People are going to give you respect because you are not a punk and you’re willing to fight and stand up for youself when the situation arises.
No one cares about the winning or losing part, they just want to see how you handle yourself during and after the fight.
