Why and at what height?
Women, respect, livelihood, only living once, wanted to be proud of the body I saw in the mirror. A lot of parts of life really suck when you’re short, I was just under 5′ 6″ (166) and now im just under 5 ‘ 9″ (174).
How old are you?
How much did it cost?
About 125k for everything
Was it really that bad? And did it change to your satisfaction afterwards?
100%, my life is fundamentally different now.
Could you elaborate?
More respect, I feel like a dark cloud has been lifted , I feel like I have a chance with every girl I’m interested in. Not that I can pull any girl, just that being under 5 6 isn’t something that disqualifies me for anybody that I’m interested in.
Where did you have this done?
Paley in Florida.
Could you tell us what exacty has been done to you to increase your height?
Bone is stretched and new bone fills in basically.
**There are different techniques for limb lengthening surgery, but the most common method involves using an external fixator device, which is a metal frame attached to the affected bone(s). The fixator has pins or wires that are inserted through the skin and into the bone to hold it in place.
Once the fixator is in place, the bone is cut and gradually pulled apart using a process called distraction osteogenesis. The patient or a caregiver then turns screws on the external fixator device several times a day to gradually lengthen the gap between the two bone ends, creating new bone tissue in the gap.
Over several months, the bone continues to regenerate and new bone tissue fills the gap, ultimately lengthening the bone. Once the desired length is achieved, the fixator is removed and the bone is allowed to heal.
Is there a limit to how much this kinda operation can extend limbs?
16 cm (6.3 in) is like the ultimate max, nobody goes for that much though its ridiculously dangerous
How long was the entire lengthening process?
3 month lengthening process, recovery from then on.
3 months in the hospital, plus recovery afterwards?
On a scale of 1-10 how bad was the pain throughout the process?
1-10 lol, its very different moment to moment.
What was the recovery phase like?
Completely awful at first, but it gets better every single day and when you stop lengthening all the pain goes away.
Are your arms noticeably shorter now that your legs are longer? or do they do your arms as well to be in proportion?
I look pretty proportional still.
Did you have to relearn or atleast adjust to normal muscle memory motions like walking, running, jumping, kicking balls?
Yes, I relearned everything, and I’ve had many stumbles.
How did the people close to you react when you told them?
Shocked but supportive.
Have your dating prospects actually changed?
Do you exercise at all? Or do any sports? Has it impacted your ability to do so? And is it just the rods in the middle of the shins type thing? Or a different procedure
Yes, I exercise intensively every day. I am just starting to get back into sports and I would say my capabilities are at about 50/60% of what they once were, I was pretty athletic back then. I think at the end of everything I’ll be back to 80-90% of my athletic capability, and never as explosive as I was before. Ofc this is something I was gladly willing to give up cause I never wanted to be a professional athlete anyways.
Why exactly would your athletic ability not go back to 100%?
Right now I don’t think so cause my muscles and nerves got fucked, they’re recovering slowly and I dont know to what point they’ll recover
