If a person is interested in you romantically, they will MAKE TIME to reply to your texts (as if that’s so hard to do). If they can’t meet you on a certain day for a date, they will tell you the soonest possible alternative date and confirm it with you. They will call you back that day if they miss your call.
Here’s the thing: people are generally not confrontational. If they know someone is into them, but they aren’t interested, a lot of the time they have a hard time just straight-up saying no. This is why people ghost, or constantly make excuses.
Also…
Do yourself a favor and take mixed signals as a no.
Here’s how you follow it—just imagine that the other person is having a really hard time letting you go because rejecting someone isn’t easy and they don’t want to hurt your feelings. Imagine they just don’t know how to come upfront and say that they don’t like you like that. So they’ve been awkwardly appeasing you and giving you half-hearted responses, but you just won’t take the hint!
Do yourself the favor of removing yourself first and walk away with the rest of your dignity while you can.
