I fucking hate being an adult
How the fuck do y’all deal with this for 60 years? Everyone tells u life gets better after high school. But HOW? Like this is the most bland depressing shit u could imagine. Work with the same 3-10 people that u have nothing in common with for 40 hours a week. Come home. Do stuff outside alone cause u aren’t in school anymore. Go to bed. Repeat.
Like there’s nothing to look forward to anymore on a day to day basis
Alright, it’s time for a wake-up call. Being an adult means taking responsibility for your own life and happiness.
No one’s going to hold your hand and guide you through it anymore. You want friends? You want hobbies? You want excitement? Well, guess what – it’s on you to make it happen.
Gone are the days when someone else organized your social life and activities for you. You’re not in school anymore, where opportunities to meet people and try new things were handed to you on a silver platter.
If you want a fulfilling life outside of work, you’ve got to put in the effort.
And yeah, it takes work. It’s not always easy to reach out to people, to find and cultivate hobbies, to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
But that’s the price of admission for an interesting, satisfying adult life. You can’t just sit around waiting for fun and novelty to come to you. You have to go out and create it for yourself.
So enough with the pity party. Enough with the excuses. You have the freedom and autonomy now to shape your life however you want. And if all you’re doing with that freedom is working, sleeping, and complaining, then that’s on you.
Take a hard look at how you’re spending your time. Invest in yourself and your interests. Put yourself out there socially, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Seek out new experiences. Because at the end of the day, you are the only one who can give your life meaning and color. No one’s going to do it for you.
It’s time to step up and start acting like the adult you are. Life is what you make of it.
So stop making excuses, stop wallowing, and start making something you can be proud of. You’ve got this.
