The Daily Man-Up: There Are No More Zero Days

What’s a zero day? A zero day is when you don’t do a single fucking thing towards whatever dream or goal or want or whatever that you got going on. No more zeros. I’m not saying you gotta bust an essay out everyday, that’s not the point. The point I’m trying to make is that you have to make yourself, promise yourself, that the new SYSTEM you live in is a NON-ZERO system. Didnt’ do anything all fucking day and it’s 11:58 PM? Write one sentence. One pushup. Read one page of that chapter. One. Because one is non zero. You feel me? When you’re in the super vortex of being bummed your pattern of behaviour is keeping the vortex goin, that’s what you’re used to. Turning into productivity ultimate master of the universe doesn’t happen from the vortex. It happens from a massive string of CONSISTENT NON ZEROS. That’s rule number one. Do not forget.

vegan puts out cigarette with fire extinguisher

An angry vegan restaurant owner fired a fire extinguisher at a man because he was smoking a cigarette near his restaurant.

Apparently, Bird, who had been volunteering at an arts festival downtown, lit up near the entrance of one of Jamison’s restaurants. Jamison told him to leave and he walked off. Jamison came back and insisted Bird was still within 25 feet of the entrance. He brought along the safety device as backup.

August 7, 2019 | No Comments » | Topics: Man-Up, Work-Life/Goals |

Goal setting is crucial to long-term achievement but how any of us actually do it? Better yet, how many of us are in the practice of actually writing down goals and bringing them into reality?

According to researchers, on average only three people out of 100 are consistently in the habit of writing down goals.

Interestingly, it has also been indicated that people who write down their goals are 50% more likely to achieve them than those who don’t.

The Daily Man-Up: Success Doesn’t Require Speed…It Requests Slowness

Success doesn’t require speed… It requests slowness

So many people today are in a rush to become successful.

They want to earn 7-figures in 12 months even though they have no marketable skills, no network, and no businesses acumen.

They want to build their dream body in 12 weeks even though they haven’t set foot in a gym in years and don’t really understand the current state of their physical body.

They want to magically find the man/woman of their dreams even though they themselves are completely undateable and have 0 social skills.

And I get it…

Human beings are inherently impatient.

But the great irony of success (in any area of life) is that an approach that is overly focused on speed will actually force you to go slower.

The Daily Man-Up

Over the course of the past couple of years in self-development, I’ve come down the these conclusions:

  1. You are an outsider before you are an insider
  2. Everything is hard before it is easy
  3. There is an acclimation time before hard becomes easy
  4. Once hard becomes easy, it will be something you “do”
  5. Something you “do” becomes who you “are” over time.
  6. Who you “are” is changeable moment by moment.

The Daily Man-Up: Start Small

As I talk to more and more people, it’s become clear what the most common sticking point is: getting started. I don’t think I’ve repeated any phrase as often as I’ve said, “Start small.” No matter what it is that you’re doing, whether you think you need to or not, whether you’re changing your life or starting a new project, start small.

Stop trying to overhaul your entire life overnight. I know you want results, and you want them now, but trying to change every habit you have immediately is unsustainable. You didn’t create all of your current habits in one day, so you’re not going to replace them in one day. That’s just not how it works for 99.99999% of people.

The Daily Man-Up: Stop Waiting

Stop waiting. Start doing. It’s all too easy to tell ourselves that once we lose twenty pounds, we’ll be happy, or once we have more free time, we’ll start reading more, or once we’re on that new project at work and have shorter hours, we’ll start going back to the gym. We think we’re too busy now to do that thing we want to do, or we’ll be happy once we’ve done that thing, but we haven’t even started working on it.

News Flash: You’ll always be busy. Or you’ll be tired. Or someone else will need your time. Or you’ll feel like you don’t have enough knowledge or skill to start. Something always comes up. There is no perfect time. There is always something you can use as a reason not to start. If you’re looking for a reason not to be happy now, you’ll find it.

The Daily Man-Up: Focus On The Process Not The Results

April 3, 2019 | No Comments » | Topics: Work-Life/Goals |

Don’t you ever just get impatient with what is coming your way? That it is not coming fast enough?

The society we live in has now been molded in a way that makes people want instant results. Gone are the days when we were taught to work hard, stay consistent and be patient, to reach some level of success now it seems those principles are slowly becoming obsolete.

This is why it is so hard for most of us to stick to the goals that we may have set for ourselves. That is one reason why most of us hate putting in the work.

And maybe that is the problem, we focus so much on the results that if nothing is happening by the time deadline we set for ourselves, we give up.

So what would happen if we adjusted our mind set and instead of focusing so much on the result, we turn our attention to the process?

What happens when we focus on the process? Take a look at some of the things that will change for you.
