An elderly man having lunch in Hollywood was viciously attacked and robbed – but the quick thinking of a good Samaritan who happened to see it all saved his life.
The elderly man was sitting down having lunch when footage shows the attacker walk up to him and suddenly punch him in the face.
Footage from the Rio Rancho Police Department in New Mexico shows the arrest of Albuquerque Police Officer Jeffrey Wharton prior to his shift beginning. He was taken into custody by detectives of the Rio Rancho Police Department. The on duty arrest was due to a warrant for his arrest from the Rio Rancho PD.

EMT with the FDNY here. It happens all the time – especially in Manhattan. There’s your classic hit and splatter, which sounds like what happened here. Then there’s your “space case” which is where they get wedged in between the subway car and the platform. Usually it’s because they dropped something on the tracks, jumped down, and didn’t realize how high the platform actually is. So they try to get up on the platform, and they can’t, and the train winds up coming and depending on how big the space is will either cut them in half or wedge them between the car and platform. Then, you have your “screw driver” which is the same as the space case, except the top half of the body stays in the same direction, and the waist/legs twist around and around as the subway car pulls the body down the side of the platform. This is actually a scenario that is practiced jointly between EMS and Fire at the academy – they have a fake subway track at the FDNY Academy on Randall’s Island that they mimic this with.
A man accused of harassing his Black neighbors woke up behind bars Tuesday. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside of his home Monday afternoon after video of a racist rant went viral.
Edward Cagney Mathews, 45, attempted to address the crowd of around 100 people who gathered outside his home before being forced back inside by police. He was eventually escorted to a waiting SUV, and protesters threw water bottles at the vehicle as it drove away.
This ‘Karen’ called the cops on a man while parked outside his home waiting for his son. This woman doesn’t believe it’s his house and even walks up to the door.
“Yup! Called the police!” the woman chirps. “Already did. They’re on their way.”
“This lady’s crazy y’all, I’m at my house,” the man tells the camera, only to be interrupted by: “Why don’t you come in to your f**king house?” So he does.

Anthony Perry was stopped by a deputy with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina after the officer spotted him going 65mph in a 70mph zone. The encounter left Perry so disturbed he later shared video of the traffic stop on Facebook, which shows the officer giving him a written warning. Perry wrote:
‘I lieu of Black History Month I felt compelled to share my experience…with an officer of the Sampson County police department.’
‘While it is ever so important to celebrate and uplift our heritage and progress in America with regard to racial disparities, we must always continue to challenge racial injustice, inequalities and discrimination to show true honor to those who gave tirelessly to the cause.’
The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office has since responded to the incident, writing:
‘In regards to the law regarding stopping someone under the speed limit, please keep in mind an officer only needs reasonable suspicion to stop a vehicle.
