“My parents wont let me be independent”

I’m (24F) having trouble with my parents and cant do anything on my own. They dont want me to move out because rent is expensive and a money sink when we have our own house but she controls everything I do.

I have a long distance boyfriend (28M) of 2 years and we plan on tying the knot in the near future. He’s visiting me next month but my parents dont know about him so I told my parents I wanted to do a “staycation” to unwind.

They said yes but they said they will visit me everyday and use the amenities there. I dont know what to do since they wont leave me alone. I help pay the bills, I have a job, and a degree. I pay for all of my things and treat them out occasionally so what am I missing?

“I fell hard for someone who’s already taken—now what?”

A few weeks ago, I met this absolutely amazing woman. She’s stunning—like, “knocks the wind out of me when she walks in the room” stunning. But it’s not just looks—she’s smart, hilarious, the kind of person I can talk to for hours without getting bored. I can’t stop thinking about her. I’m head over heels, and that almost never happens to me.

Here’s the problem: she’s not single. She’s in a relationship. Still, the chemistry between us is intense, and it feels like she’s just as into me. She’s hinted (okay, more than hinted) that she wants to see me, even though she’s still with her boyfriend. It’s pretty clear she wants to cheat with me.

“My fiance’s friends treat him like crap”

My fiancé has all guy friends, and I’ve noticed since the beginning that they all kinda treat him like the pack mule and really just like the little b of the group. It sounds bad but it’s true.

They expect him to do whatever they want, when they hang out, he’s expected to always bring drinks and gets ragged on when he doesn’t (even if they never bring drinks).

They make mean comments about him to his face under the guise of “jokes” and he’s even told me sometimes they hurt his feelings.

“A friend offer me a investment opportunity at 15% annually, is it too good to be true?”

He was my coworker. I know him at work for years. It is unlikely he take money and run away. He ask me a loan to scale up his business, promised to pay 15% annually.

He said there is legit loan paperwork. His work is in manufactures industry, maybe B2B. He said he his business don’t depend on number of customer available.

I don’t know. I am a salary man. I know nothing about business and investment. I haven’t ask him into the detail yet. I know nothing about this type of business.

He seem confident, but I feel the 15% is so unlikely that will come with (hidden) risk. Maybe my friend is also a victim of another scam, or he just overconfident.

“I only feel a spark with emotionally unavailable people.”

I’ve been dating for two years, but only a handful of guys, and I’ve taken breaks in between. I’ve noticed a pattern: I’m drawn to emotionally unavailable men, addicted to the highs and lows—the waiting for a text, the rush when it comes, and the anxiety when they go cold. I try to prove my worth to them, but when it doesn’t work out, my self-esteem crashes. I always let them back into my life, too.

“My Screen Time is 12+ hours per day”

I (25 M) have a bad phone addiction. I spend 12+ hours daily on my phone, mostly watching porn & doom scrolling Reddit/TikTok.

I tried using my iPhone’s Screen Time feature to “limit adult content” and set “app time limits”, but I always end up disabling the restrictions. I even had a friend set a secret passcode, but I used the “Forgot Passcode” option to reset it to bypass the restrictions.

I also tried using a few adult content blocker apps, but they are too easy to uninstall.

How can I reduce my screen time and set hard limits that I can’t easily turn off? Thanks

“I’m afraid of coming off as creepy to women”

I’m a 32-year-old guy, and lately I’ve become almost paralyzed by the fear of coming across as creepy to women. I wasn’t always like this, but over the last few years, I’ve read so many stories online about women dealing with unwanted attention, and I’ve realized how easy it is for a well-meaning gesture or conversation to be misinterpreted.

“The woman I’m seeing is making me crazy with her mixed signals”

I’ve been seeing this woman for a couple of months now, and honestly, I’m starting to fall for her. When it’s good, it’s amazing. We click, we laugh, the chemistry is real. But I can’t shake the feeling that she’s keeping me at arm’s length, and I keep finding myself second-guessing everything.

“How do I convince my friend to not go back to his cheating ex?”

My friend just found out his wife has been cheating on him. To make matters worse, this isn’t the first time she’s crossed a line—she’s been emotionally checked out for years, hasn’t worked a day since they got married, and doesn’t lift a finger around the house. She’s shameless about the affair, and somehow still finds ways to make him feel like the problem.

“Does anyone else get demotivated seeing 30-year-olds with $500k+ net worths?”

Does anyone else feel totally demoralized when scrolling through Reddit or FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) forums and seeing 30-year-olds with $500k+ net worths? It’s like everywhere I look, someone my age (or younger!) is either a high-earning software engineer or a genius investor who bought Amazon at $3 and has been maxing out every retirement account since birth. Meanwhile, I’m here just trying to make sure I don’t accidentally pay my electric bill late again.
