10 Survivors Of Childhood Abuse Reveal How It Has Affected Their Lives

1. When I was 11 or 12ish, I was abused by this disgusting monster of a man who I saw as a role model I could trust. He was one of those people who would always be suspiciously, unnaturally polite to people, and being around kids, nobody batted an eye.
I was called into his office in response to me acting out in school and from there i don’t remember much, but the abuse that occured then shaped the rest of my life. (this man went to jail later for a few years for filming young boys in the shower naked at a local school where he volunteered as a basketball coach, but is now FREE… and no accusers have come forth about anything else)

“My 62 year-old-dad is currently dating a 23-year-old”

Three years ago, my (24F) parents (62M and 61F) divorced. I’m their only child and live in my own apartment, while my mom got the family house and my dad bought a new place. They’ve always been on friendly terms through their separation, which has certainly made some things a lot easier. But my dad’s actions following their split have been causing issues.

25 Things Foreigners Admire About Americans

(photo)
1. My partner’s American and whenever we travel to the States I’m always struck by how ridiculously friendly everyone is. I’ve had long conversations with people I’ve only just met who are just genuinely interested in what life is like in other countries/how I’m finding America etc. And people tend to be very giving of themselves as well. In Britain the standard response to ‘How are you?’ is ‘Fine/great’ whatever, whereas American’s can give you a complete breakdown of their life at the moment (including an in depth medical history id you’re not careful). It’s nice though.

The Bleak Reality Faced By The Japanese Youth

There used to be a legal concept and now there is a de facto concept known as “lifetime employment.” Basically, when you begin a career with a company, you would have to egregiously fuckup/commit malicious deeds to lose your job. However, businessmen who fail publicly on a major project that they took leadership of, or businessmen who piss off the wrong people in the firm, are often shipped off to undesirable locations (remote countryside, foreign branches, less-than-desirable departments, etc.) or just have their careers turn into a living hell.

Confessions Of An Ex-Mercenary

How does one become a mercenary ?
Typically you start somewhere. I was a US Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. Friends of friends found me, and got my first contract to go to Africa.

Why Trying to “Save” Women is a Losing Strategy

There’s a sad, pathetic creature often lurking in strip clubs – the guy who fancies himself a white knight riding in to rescue the poor damsels grinding on the pole. He’s the self-appointed savior no one asked for, the creepy dude trying to “fix” women who aren’t broken while simultaneously paying them to shake their asses in his face. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Captain Save a Ho.
This chump smugly looks down on the very women he’s objectifying, constantly pestering them with unsolicited life advice: “Why are you doing this? You’re better than this. Let me help you become respectable, m’lady.” News flash, Sparky – she didn’t ask for your help. She’s an adult woman who can make her own damn choices. Your condescending attitude isn’t noble, it’s insulting.
But our clueless hero has an ulterior motive. Deep down, Captain Save a Ho believes the only way his mediocre ass can get a woman is to find a “damaged” one he can mold into his dream girl. He thinks pouring nice guy tokens into emotionally vulnerable women will make them fall for him, overlooking his lack of any actual attractiveness or merit. It’s a sexual strategy based on preying on the weak. How honorable!
Here’s the thing though – healthy relationships aren’t built on pity or compensation. They require two self-actualized individuals coming together as equals. Any guy who needs to “save” a woman to get her interest is operating from a place of deep neediness and insecurity. It’s the mindset of a child, not a man.
So to any aspiring Captain Save a Ho’s out there, I invite you to grow up. Worry about fixing your own flaws and inadequacies instead of hunting for broken women you can exploit. Attempting to “save” someone as a backdoor strategy to get laid is a bullshit cope for not having the balls to work on yourself and pursue healthy, equal relationships. It’s time to retire the Captain Save a Ho delusion and start showing up as a mature, actualized man. Anything less is just a pathetic, unimpressive ruse that ain’t fooling anyone, least of all the women you’re targeting.
Why You Should Stop Paying Attention to People Paid to Piss You Off

I’ve got a groundbreaking idea for you: stop paying attention to all those jackasses whose job it is to make you angry. You know who I’m talking about – the pundits, the politicians, the keyboard warriors, the professional pot-stirrers. They’re everywhere these days, and they’re all clamoring for your outrage. But here’s the thing: they don’t actually give a shit about you or the things you care about. They just want your attention, and they’ve figured out that the best way to get it is by pushing your buttons.

Do You Have To Fight In Prison?

Do you have to fight in prison? Well, let me put it this way – if you want to spend your entire sentence as some big bully’s personal punching bag and toilet paper, then sure, go ahead and be Gandhi and turn the other cheek.
