I’ve been dating for two years, but only a handful of guys, and I’ve taken breaks in between. I’ve noticed a pattern: I’m drawn to emotionally unavailable men, addicted to the highs and lows—the waiting for a text, the rush when it comes, and the anxiety when they go cold. I try to prove my worth to them, but when it doesn’t work out, my self-esteem crashes. I always let them back into my life, too.

“I gave my boyfriend of 6 years an ultimatum”
My boyfriend (24M) and I (24F) have been together for just over 6 years now, since we were 18. We’ve recently made some pretty big moves towards our future, like putting a deposit down on a house and getting promoted in our careers.
At this point, we practically act like a married couple—just without the titles. We share finances, go on family holidays together, and our families love each other. But despite all this, I’m starting to get sick of him tiptoeing around the idea of proposing and getting married.

“I feel that my grown son is too soft”
Hello, I’m the father of a 19-year-old currently attending community college, with plans to transfer to a state school after two years. However, I recently found out that his first semester GPA was only 2.9, which concerns me—especially since he’s studying engineering and hasn’t even tackled the hardest classes yet (I studied engineering myself, so I have some context).
“Wife changed her mind on having kids.”
My wife of 4 years suddenly does not want kids.. I feel devastated. I can’t tell my family or friends because I don’t want them to judge her.. I feel so alone and depressed. I love her and I know I can’t leave her but how do I get back to my ild happy self? I feel so lost.
“My mom says I’m obligated to her because she born me”
Earlier today, my mother just scream at me.
She screamed, “A child who thought that parents are not children’s obligation is a useless child. Why? Because everything that the parents did to their children when they were still a kid must be paid by their children.
They have to pay the parents. And they mustn’t keep their salary a secret, because the parents have the right to know their salary, the parents have right to know if it’s increases… To really know, how much money they must have from their children.
Children need to pay their parents from the day they were born to the day how they earned money.”

“Is this really all there is to life?”
Eat sleep go to work, repeat. Where’s the adventure? Where’s the romance ? Seems like we are all slaving away to the rat race and have no time for passion projects.
I want an adventure. I want the life and death feeling that comes from being on the edge. Where one wrong move and you’re done
The monotony of routine is killing me
“GF mad because I said I wouldn’t buy her a car if I had the money.”
I’ve been dating this girl for a few weeks, and she comes from a background where her mom has always had older, wealthy men supporting them, buying cars, paying for private school, and even moving them into their homes. The mom has a very traditional mindset—she believes men are the providers and women are the “feelers.” She’s even said I’m “like a girl” because I don’t agree with this.

“My parents are trying to live with us”
My parents have struggled financially for as long as I can remember. They refuse to work traditional jobs because they don’t want to deal with “corporate America,” so they do gigs like DoorDash and GrubHub, barely getting by. Last year, they lived with us for six months, crammed into our two-bedroom apartment with my wife, 1-year-old son, my parents, little sister, and their husky. It was suffocating and put a huge strain on our marriage. We couldn’t kick them out because I didn’t want to leave my sister without a place to go.
“My boyfriend abandoned me while we were being mugged”
Last night me and my boyfriend were in town after visiting a restaurant. We were heading back to the car park and were passing some empty streets that were pretty dark. Anyway as we were walking a shady looking guy I assume he was homeless or an addict popped out and was holding a knife he grabbed me by the arm and said give me your wallet if you know what’s good for her. And my boyfriend just turned around and ran.

“52F and Have No Retirement. NONE.”
I’m 39. I have no retirement. I have started over again during a divorce. I’m constantly broke. I’m not good with money. I don’t know how and what to do to become good financially. I grew up being poor so money always has been something that hasn’t been in my life. My credit is absolutely destroyed. It’s been a wake up call and I want to learn.
I do spend a lot of my paycheck. I know it must be as simple as don’t do that. However, I don’t know how to save. How much of a percentage do I do? What are some disciplines that yall adopt? Am I screwed or is there a way out of this? Is there a way to make extra income? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
