I’ve been dating for two years, but only a handful of guys, and I’ve taken breaks in between. I’ve noticed a pattern: I’m drawn to emotionally unavailable men, addicted to the highs and lows—the waiting for a text, the rush when it comes, and the anxiety when they go cold. I try to prove my worth to them, but when it doesn’t work out, my self-esteem crashes. I always let them back into my life, too.

It’s easy to look at people who retire early, travel the world, or live life on their terms and think, “They’re just lucky” or “Must be nice.” What most people never see? I was able to mature and save up a small nest egg, get access to the Post 9/11 GI bill, and some combat wounds were 100% worth it for the disability check and healthcare lol
That let me go to to college and a great law school with no debt, and led me to where I am today.
