My husband and I are expecting our first baby later this year after trying for a long time. He’s finishing a career training program and was offered a rare instructor course that could seriously help his future career. It’s considered the best and fastest path, but the training happens during the exact week our baby is due and would require him to travel out of state for a full week.
He told me he’d let me decide, but also admitted he’d probably feel resentment if he missed the opportunity.

“I met an amazing woman and then she told me she has bipolar”

I met this girl a couple of weeks ago and we really hit it off. She’s charismatic, smart, pretty, and has a great career. After a couple of dates she told me she has bipolar disorder and asked if I wanted to cancel the next date. I said no, but now I keep hearing horror stories about relationships with people who have bipolar disorder, and honestly I’m scared to move forward.

Why the Diamond Industry Is Suddenly in Trouble

There’s a pretty significant shake-up happening in the diamond industry right now, especially in natural diamonds. “Reckoning” honestly isn’t an exaggeration.
The biggest issue is that the old diamond business model depended on three things staying true:
- Diamonds are rare
- Diamonds hold value
- Consumers emotionally care whether a diamond came from the earth
All three are getting challenged at the same time.

How to Navigate the Dating World as a Short Guy

Let’s just get the obvious thing out of the way:
Yes, being a short guy in dating can absolutely make things harder sometimes.
There are women who care about height. Some care a little. Some care a lot. Some treat “under 6 feet” like it’s a felony conviction. Dating apps have turned height into this weird RPG stat where people filter human beings like they’re shopping for refrigerators.
That sucks.

Why Do Teenagers Feel The Need To Act “Cool” Around Their Parents?

There’s a moment that happens in a lot of families that feels weirdly universal.
A teenager who used to happily wave at you in public suddenly pretends not to know you at the mall. You pick them up from school and they ask you to park “like… way over there.” You crack a joke in front of their friends and they look at you like you just detonated a bomb in the middle of their social life.
And if you’re a parent, it can feel personal.
You think: What happened to my sweet kid?

My Wife and My Ex-Wife Became Best Friends, and It’s the Strangest Gift I’ve Ever Been Given

I never thought I’d be the guy writing about this, but here we are. I’m 33, my wife is 28, and my ex-wife is 29. Over the past year, the two of them have become genuine, certified best friends. Not “we tolerate each other for his sake” friends. Not “we’re polite at events” friends. Actual, pickleball-league-playing, hiking-on-weekends, calling-each-other-at-1AM best friends. And I’m still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing.
Let me back up.
“My girlfriend got upset over my family’s joke cake”

I’m 25 and my girlfriend is 23. She has a noticeable facial scar, and my family has always made jokes about it because they have a dark sense of humor. I kept telling her that’s just how they are and that they didn’t actually mean anything by it, but she’s never liked being around them because of it.
A few months ago, my parents hosted a big birthday dinner for my dad and I really wanted my girlfriend to come. She was hesitant because she was worried my family would say something rude again. I reassured her that everything would be fine and told her it mattered to me that she be there. She finally agreed, but she warned me that if my family crossed the line again, I better not defend it or minimize it.
