“My friend is obsessed with a woman from nearly a decade ago”

I have a friend I’ll call Ethan. Back in 2017, he developed feelings for a coworker at a diner where they both worked. It seemed obvious she liked him too, and she even kissed him at a party. She waited about a year for him to make a move, but he never did, and eventually she met someone else and moved on.

Ever since then, Ethan has been full of regret. He went from being outgoing and social to withdrawn and down most of the time.

Now it’s been nine years, and he’s still stuck on her. He hasn’t tried to meet anyone new. When we go out, he talks about how much he regrets missing his chance. Around couples, he gets moody and makes comments about how happy everyone else looks.

“Should I invite my father’s mistress to my wedding?

My fiancée and I are getting married in August. My parents separated when I was 10 after my dad cheated on my mom with a woman named Claire, who he is still with 16 years later.

After the separation, my dad stayed very involved and co parented well. My parents were actually on decent terms, but my mom had one firm boundary. My brother and I were never to meet Claire. I didn’t meet her until I was 20, when I started spending more time with my dad during the pandemic.

About two to three years ago, I started a relationship with a married man. I know I shouldn’t have, but I fell in love with him.

His wife eventually found out. It turned into a huge situation. She confronted me, and it led to her asking him for a divorce. After everything, he and I ended up reconciling and decided to try a real relationship.

I know I was selfish. I’ve already gone over that in my head a thousand times, so I’m not looking for judgment. I just need advice.

I’m short, I have been specifically told that I was too short to date multiple times. I’m fairly average in looks but I am short. The vast majority of girls won’t date a short guy unfortunately, all I’ve heard from girls is “tall dark and handsome” I’ve never met a girl who preferred to date short guys and only met a couple who didn’t mind.

Being short is one of the most unattractive traits a guy can have and people will always remind you of that with jokes, insults, mocking and condescending comments.

“How did you come to terms with having to work forever?”

I’m a 26(f) and I started working in 2022, it has always been hard for me to come to terms with the fact that I am going to work forever (until retirement age). I struggle and think about this every day, it consumes me because I really don’t think this is how we are supposed to live

I don’t hate my job; it’s not even hard to do. But I wake up at 5am, leave the house at 6am to get to work at 7am, work until 4pm and I get home at 5pm

It feels like I have no time for myself and I struggle to understand how I am supposed to do this for 40 more years without a mental breakdown

My husband and I have been married for over nine years, and we have never had penetrative sex. He says the idea makes him uncomfortable.

We got married young in a Christian environment where sex before marriage was not allowed. He went straight from living with his parents to living with me.
