“My mom 70s works full time to support my non disabled 50s brother”
My oldest brother is in his 50s and hasn’t worked consistently in close to 20 years. He lives alone, rent free, in my mom’s second home, which she used to rent out for extra income.
He pays for nothing. My mom covers the mortgage, utilities, his phone bill, his cars, his food, and basically every other necessity.
After my dad died a few years ago, my brother convinced my mom to buy him a new car so he could DoorDash. He already had a paid off car that she had just spent $5,000 fixing for him.

There’s something obscene about it.
Flowers. Trinkets. A polished stone. Praying hands. Roses. And the words “Our Angel in Heaven.”
Meanwhile, 19 children and two teachers are dead.
Twenty-one people walked into Robb Elementary on May 24, 2022, with every reasonable expectation that they would walk back out. They didn’t. 1. I’ve always been the awkward friendless outsider. I will always be the awkward friendless outsider. Four years of college, four years of graduate school, and over 15 years in the professional world. And I still can’t seem to carry on a conversation without being awkward.
I don’t have any friends, which makes life pretty hard when I’m going through rough patches. Coworkers quietly go to lunch and hang out after work without inviting me.
In-laws and extended family all have these meaningful relationships and go on vacations together. I’ve spent my entire life watching from the outside and it’s so depressing.

My 18 year old son was thriving. He was excelling in a competitive sport with Olympic potential, doing well academically, and had a healthy social life. Then he started dating his current girlfriend, and everything began to unravel.
Since meeting her, he has isolated himself from friends and family, dropped out of high school, and stopped taking his training seriously. He now spends most of his time waiting outside her school, walking her to and from class, or glued to his phone talking to her. When he does not do what she wants, she calls him crying, yelling, and putting enormous emotional pressure on him.
