“My mom expects me to help pay their mortgage”

I’m a 28-year-old woman, married with a child. I’ve been friends with a 29-year-old man for about a decade. We’ve never dated or slept together, though there was some flirtation in our younger years. He got married just over a year ago and often vents about being unhappy. I’ve always told him to talk to his wife or seek therapy instead of confiding only in me.

“My married friend wants to sleep with me”

I’m a 28-year-old woman, married with a child. I’ve been friends with a 29-year-old man for about a decade. We’ve never dated or slept together, though there was some flirtation in our younger years. He got married just over a year ago and often vents about being unhappy. I’ve always told him to talk to his wife or seek therapy instead of confiding only in me.

A few months back, I opened up to him about the struggles in my own marriage—something I rarely do. Not long after, he started flirting with me via text. At first, I thought he was joking, but the messages became more direct. He told me he wanted to be with me. I haven’t reciprocated. I can’t bring myself to cheat, especially not with someone I’ve called a friend for so long.

“My wife throws temper tantrums”

My wife has a temper problem. Only gotten worse after our second baby was born. We have been married for a long time.. And have two kids. She can get worked up over trivial things and end in screaming, slamming doors etc breaking things including furniture. Throwing my clothes on the floor.

She has never accepted responsibility or apologized for this behavior and any suggestion she had such a problem and to seek help will only end up in another screaming situation.

I probably should have left her long ago. It’s not always been bad though. We have two kids and a mortgage.. And I don’t know what to do.

“I cheated on my wife, how do I rebuild trust?”

For most of my six-year marriage, I’ve been unfaithful to my wife with my ex-girlfriend. She discovered the affair a few years ago, and we tried counseling. I ended things with my ex for about a year—but I relapsed. I reconnected with my ex, and the affair resumed for several more years. My wife recently found out again and nearly divorced me for the third time.

“My mom yelled at me during my wedding”

I got married recently, and what should have been one of the happiest days of my life ended up being clouded by something I still can’t quite believe happened. Right before the ceremony, I was in the backroom collecting myself—nerves, excitement, all of it. Out of nowhere, my mom burst in and started yelling at me about something completely inconsequential. I honestly don’t even remember what it was about—just that it made no sense for that moment and felt so out of left field. I was stunned and tried to de-escalate things as quickly as I could, but the whole experience threw me off.

Then, a couple days later, she tells my other family members that I yelled at her. That I was disrespectful on my wedding day. I was floored. Not only did she cause a scene and inject unnecessary drama into an already emotional day, but now she’s rewriting the story to make herself the victim.

“My wife is my biggest hater”

I’m a 28-year-old man who’s recently committed to getting fit after years of unhealthy habits. My wife, 30, and I both fell into a sedentary lifestyle during our six years together. But five months ago, I decided to turn things around. I’ve dropped my body fat from 30% to 19% and set a goal of reaching 10%.

I’ve also taken up long-distance running. I started at 5 miles, then 10, and now 15. I’m aiming for 20 miles soon. But whenever I share these goals with my wife, she brushes them off as “unrealistic.” She’s never acknowledged my progress or offered encouragement. In fact, I feel like she’s been dismissive of the changes I’m proud of.

“My parents want to borrow 20k from my bank account”

I’m 16 years old and have saved up $20,000 in my bank account. Now, my parents are asking to “borrow” the entire amount so they can buy my older sister a car. They say they’ll pay me back with interest.

But I’m uncomfortable with the idea of draining my account. I was planning to use this money for my own college expenses. Should I agree to lend them the money?

“My boyfriend has a lot of potential but has no job, no license and lives on a couch”

I’m a 28-year-old woman in Toronto, dating a 37-year-old man who’s kind, smart, and full of potential. But here’s the reality: he lives on his parents’ basement couch, doesn’t work, lost his license, sleeps all day, and stays up all night.

He’s been clean from substance use for years, but still occasionally uses “snowflake.” I’ve got my life together—educated, employed, building something for myself. I love him and truly believe in his potential, and part of me thinks I can help him turn things around, but I’m scared I’m holding myself back.

Do I stick around or move on? I need brutal honesty.
