“How do I stop hating everyone”

Hey, how do I stop being so judgmental and thinking I’m better than other people when I know I’m really not?

I know this is an issue for me, and I’ve tried to ignore it, but I can’t. Sometimes I feel like I’m better than everyone, and other times I feel like I’m the worst person ever. I’m constantly going back and forth between feeling superior and feeling inferior, and I don’t know where it comes from. I’ve been like this since I was a kid, and I want to change before I get any older. I’m a teenager right now.

The Truth About Running a Vending Machine Business

Vending machine business

I run a six machine vending route, and the first thing I tell people when they ask me about getting into vending is that this is not passive income. That is probably the biggest misconception I see.

People picture buying a machine, filling it with chips and drinks, finding a place to put it, and coming back every once in a while to collect the money. It sounds simple, and compared with some businesses, it is pretty straightforward. But straightforward doesn’t mean passive.

“Being myself has gotten me nowhere”

I’m 35, and I’ve never been in a relationship. I’ve never even been on a date.

People always tell me, “Just be yourself,” like that’s supposed to solve something. But I have been myself. For 35 years. And it hasn’t gotten me anywhere.

I go to work, come home, do the things I enjoy, and see friends when I can. My life isn’t terrible. But year after year, I watch people around me meet someone, fall in love, move in together, get married, and start families. Meanwhile, I’m still in the exact same place.

You Don’t Need to Prove Your Worth to Anyone

At some point, many of us quietly decide that life is an audition.

Nobody tells us this directly. There is no orientation meeting where someone hands you a clipboard and says, “Welcome. Your job from now on is to convince everyone that you are smart enough, attractive enough, successful enough, interesting enough, and generally doing a respectable job at being a human being.”

But somehow we get the message.
